  • As a documentary filmmaker, Thea has been found filming in the streets of many US cities, with musicians across the globe, and with recovery advocates in a Richmond barbershop. The first film she produced, Lost in Woonsocket, introduced her to the recovery world and connected her to her mentors across the country. An incredible years-long journey with the film threw Thea face first into her own personal and family recovery, which ultimately led her to become a Recovery Coach. Thea is passionate about advocating for and supporting those in recovery and loves to be "out in the field" meeting people where they are when they are ready.

  • Rebecca is a writer who has been surrounded by substance use her whole life. With her unique blend of creativity and lived wisdom, she’s a guiding force in amplifying LARC’s paradigm-shifting approach to recovery. Rebecca is the mother of two boys and a diabolical force of nature on the dance floor.

  • Tyler is a professional photographer who is a photographer for TV & film based in Los Angeles, CA. He is also a member of stillsync, a creative collective. Outside of work he can be found hiking with his family, traveling to unique areas, doing yoga or connecting with neighbors through his local Buy Nothing group.

  • Growing up in South LA, in a community that was affected by substance use disorder, Paul saw the ugly truth of addiction. He saw how addiction robbed people of their bright futures. Early in his teenage years, he struggled with alcohole. At the lowest point in his life, Paul found mentors who guided him to his second chance. Having been labeled as a failure, he was introduced to a program called Educational Opportunity Program which allowed him to attend college at Cal State Northridge. College boosted Paul's self-esteem and gave him the power to choose a different path. One of his goals in life is to provide those who want it a second chance. Paul believes everyone deserves a second chance and he wants to be someone who can provide that opportunity.

  • Matthew is a committed and hard-working professional with over 12 years of sobriety. While growing up, Matthew's family system was full of alcoholism and mental health issues. After struggling with addiction later in his adult years, he became conscious of the lack of awareness in our society around these subjects. He became so passionate about figuring out a way to contribute that he went back to college in his late 30s to learn everything he could to help others who struggle with addiction and mental health issues. Through his personal experience of finding a sober community with AA and Al-Anon, he realized how important community is to the process of maintaining sobriety. Matthew also saw a need for sober living to establish a safe place for people facing their issues and jumped on the opportunity of joining the LARC board of directors. He will continue to pursue new and practical ways to do his part for the sober living community.
